Aberi Steel: A Family Success Story

We didn’t coin the phrase, but at Aberi Steel we definitely understand the concept of “pulling yourself up by the bootstraps.”

Founded by the father-son team Rich and Ben Kandlbinder in their hometown of Washington, Missouri, Aberi Steel has humble beginnings that date back to 2005. Our founders saw a need for steel across a variety of industries, and using their more than 30 years of experience in the steel industry, they launched the business in a small basement with nothing more than the two of them and sheer determination to succeed. Ben still serves the company as President.

Continued Growth for Nearly Two Decades

Aberi Steel’s first customer purchased a single stick of steel tubing, which we now sell to customers by rail car full. Since our inception, we’ve grown to become a national steel distributor with customers in 42 states.

We’ve moved into a much larger facility, and added inside square footage as we’ve grown. We currently are located in a 42,000 square-foot distribution center. To streamline loading and unloading steel, we’ve added overhead cranes.

Production mitre saws are constantly running to cut steel for our customers. We also added fabricated, machined, and weld-ready products to our offerings. One of our larger product lines is ready-to-pour steel pipe bollards, and we average 100 loads of pipe bollards per year.

Today, we focus on prime, secondary, and surplus steel pipe and tubing. Aberi Steel ships square, rectangular, and round steel tubing, along with steel pipe, all over the United States. Additionally, we stock a variety of DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) products, along with small and large OD pipe, and heavy wall tubing. We specialize in difficult to find steel products, including rare pipe sizes and specs for whatever application you need.
